Directions: By car: Follow route 363 from Umeå, via Sorsele to Ammarnäs. If you are coming from the south, via Östersund, follow the E45 to Sorsele and take route 363 to Ammarnäs. On arriving at the village, continue for a further 2 km, following the signs to "Norra Ammarnäs".
Public transport: There are two buses from Sorsele nearly every day throughout the year. On Saturdays, the "Tågplusbussen" connects with the train from Stockholm so, if you leave Stockholm on a Friday evening, you could be eating lunch in Ammarnäs the following day! Contact us before you arrive and we will meet you from the train. To help reduce CO² emissions, we offer a 20% discount on a week's rent if you travel by public transport. Planning your trip is easy if you use the Resrobot on our website.
By air: The nearest airport is in Arvidsjaur. Combining air travel with a hired car from the airport is probably the quickest way to get here. It is also possible to fly to Umeå, Skellefteå, Lycksele and Luleå and rent a car from there. If you chose to fly to Hemavan, you can reach us by hiking along the Kungsleden Royal Trail across the mountains.
On foot. Kungsleden (Royal Trail) comes down from Adolfström by the Vindelåforsen rapids, as does Josefleden, part of the system of trails that comes from Krokstrand in Norway.
Winter: On skis, snowmobiles or using dogsleds. Follow the Vindelälvsleden trail which starts down in Vännäsby. Kungsleden is also open, as well as a number of specially prepared snowmobile trails.
