Fjällhästen operates horseback riding tours in Ammarnäs.
Ride off on an adventure into Europe’s largest nature reserve, Vindelfjälln. A wide variety of trips are available, from daily excursions to week-long expeditions into remote, isolated territory, far from traffic and modern life.

Reindeer herding is tough work and in 1986, after one particularly exhausting trip through the mountains Osvald decided to make the journey easier by exchanging his motorbike for an icelandic pony. Grani, an Icelandic pony was the first on hand in Ammarnäs to help Osvald with his reindeer. Visitors to Ammarnäs enjoyed following Oswald and Grani on their trips and so Fjällhästen was founded to cater for tourists who wanted to explore the mountains and the life of Sami - on horseback. The business has developed over the years and now offers first-class riding tours through majestic terrain that provide insight into the lives and work of the Sami people.
