A time-traveling excursion.
A unique building that was saved from demolition and is now open to the public in the summer. Back in 1990, Bastuträsk’s old school, with its beautiful church hall, was about to be demolished when a local association was formed and stepped in to save it. Also run as a military hospital during the Second World War, this historic building is now a unique and popular tourist destination.
“Our Home Front museum and the church hall have all been restored to as they were in the 1940s and ’50s and there is also a period café and shop,” says Lilly Karlsson.
